Gloria Fern Allen, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on September 15, 2024, at the age of 87. She was born on February 15, 1937, in Waxahachie, Texas, to James Emmitt Heath and Clara Dee Heath.
Gloria led a life full of dedication and adventure. She worked as a clerical administrator at Cook's Children's Hospital for over 20 years, a role in which her warmth and efficiency touched many lives. Her professional accomplishments were matched by her active participation in various camping clubs, including the Loners on Wheels and Good Sam R.V. clubs. Her passion for travel led her to spend many of her golden years as a full-time RV'er, exploring the country and making lasting memories.
She is survived by her daughters, Gina Hard and her husband Craig of Winnsboro, and Diane Elder Peppo and her husband Ray of Pasadena, Texas. Her legacy also includes her beloved only grandchild, Meagan Matthews. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, James & Clara, as well as her husbands, Denver J. Garrett, Dan Foy Bostic, and Aubrey Gene Allen.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to their 'Three Generation Strong' team, who will be walking in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer's® in Oklahoma City on November 2nd! Near the end of her life, Gloria lost all of her memory, so the family is committed to helping the Alzheimer's Association in their search for a cure! Donations can be made here: Three Generations Strong Team
Gloria will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her love of adventure, and the impact she made on those around her. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
