Gloria Flores Silva, born April 8th, 1968.
Surrounded by family, Gloria left us for her heavenly home, peacefully on October 27th, 2024 after a tough battle with cancer. Gloria will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She exemplified grace and her smile could make any dark day, brighter.
She was born in San Antonio Del Volcan, Zacatecas, Mexico on April 8th, 1968 to Victor and Maria Silva. Gloria married the love of her life, Juan Adolfo Flores, in 1985. Gloria and Juan raised 5 wonderful children: Alvaro, Ana, Homero, Gloria and Adolfo. Gloria and Juan moved to Quitman, TX in 1995 and remained in that comfortable town where they continued to raise and love their children.
Gloria was a faithful member of St Peter’s Catholic Church in Mineola, TX. Gloria had a passion for helping others and loved to cook delicious food that was undoubtedly identifiable to her. Throughout her life, she provided her cooking expertise to all types of occasions. Gloria encountered every person with a loving smile and a genuine concern for their happiness.
Gloria’s heart only grew bigger as her family continued to grow. Although her first love fell onto her children, later in life her favorite role was that of a grandparent. Gloria treasured her time with her grandkids and loved being “Grandma”. She stayed busy with attending band concerts, baseball games, choir recitals and surprise lunch dates at school. Gloria is survived by son Alvaro, his wife and children; Carolina, Marcela, Eduardo and Juan David – Ana, Homero, Gloria and Adolfo, his wife and children; Mariela, Victor and Ivan. Among hundreds of cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters- Gloria’s efforts were never short of attending birthday events, holy sacraments, baby showers and many more heartfelt and loving events. Gloria was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, godmother, aunt, sister, sister-in-law, mentor and above all – a devout Catholic Christian Woman.
Gloria exemplified genuine love for her family and friends and most importantly, her faith. She will be deeply missed.
