Gordon Wayne Anderson, beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026, in Mineola, Texas, at the age of 81. Gordon's life was deeply connected to the East Texas communities of Caddo Mills, Mineola, Canton, and Tyler, where he made lasting memories and friendships throughout the years.

He proudly served in the United States Air Force, enlisting in 1963 and serving his country honorably, including time stationed in Bitburg, Germany.

Gordon spent 42 years working in banking before retiring. In retirement, he continued his love of helping others by working for Meals on Wheels, where he found purpose in serving others and making a difference in the lives of those in his community.

Above all, Gordon loved his family. His daughters, son, and grandchildren were among the greatest joys of his life. He was always joking, teasing, and finding ways to make people laugh. His sense of humor and ability to bring a smile to those around him will be remembered and deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Adam Anderson and his wife, Lindsey; daughters Kelly Johnson and her husband, John; Sarah Hassell and her husband, Anthony; and Samantha Taylor and her husband, Mark. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Bowman and Landry Bagby, Molly, Tucker, and Taylor Anderson, and Brooklyn Taylor, along with other family members and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.

Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, William Anderson and Katherine Inez Anderson.

His memory will live on through the family he loved so dearly, the laughter he shared, the people he helped, and the many lives he touched throughout his lifetime.
