Grace Fern Bird

Grace Fern Bird, age 92, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 in Tyler, Texas. She was born on Thursday, March 10, 1921 in Kiefer, Oklahoma to the late Lawrence and Mary Haynes.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years, Rev. C. A. Bird; a son, Don Bird; a sister, Myrtle Van Deventer; and a brother.

She is survived by three sons, Ray Bird and wife Velta of Scurry, Texas, Rodney Bird and wife Betty of Hawkins, Texas and Joe Bird and wife Anita, also of Hawkins; a sister, Opal Blevins of Omaha, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and dedicated, loving caregiver, Becky Attaway.

Visitation for Mrs. Bird will be held on Sunday, August 04, 2013 at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola, Texas from 6 – 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held at the First Assembly of God in Hawkins on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Don Majors officiating.

Interment will follow at Rockhill Cemetery in Coke, Texas.
