Grace Elizabeth Jones Cannaday, a resident of Nacogdoches and formerly of Winnsboro Texas, passed away at the age of 93 on January 21, 2016. Born April 9, 1922 in Winnsboro Texas, Grace was an active member of the First United Methodist Church and participated in the United Methodist Women (UMW). While serving the UMW, Grace held many offices on numerous occasions. She was also a member of the Edelweiss Club of Winnsboro where she served as an officer.
She is preceded in death by her parents Arlie Franklin Jones and Louise Carley Jones, her sisters Frances Arlyne Jones, Ruth Craddock Taylor, and her beloved husband Gerald Dyle Cannaday.
Grace is survived by her Children: Gerald and Andrea Cannaday of Lakeway, Texas; Kent and Brenda Cannaday of Nacogdoches Texas, Scott and Suzanne Cannaday of Charlotte, North Carolina. Her grandchildren: Melissa and Tad Schirz of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Kristy and Jake Ward of Charlotte, North Carolina, Collin Cannaday of Austin Texas, Jason Cannaday of Austin, Texas, Ashley and John Trotter of Atlanta, Georgia, Lacy Cannaday of Austin, Texas, and Kyle and Jenn Cannaday of Wichita Falls, Texas. Her great-grandchildren: Emerson Ward, Jack Schirz, Jackson Ward, Kate Trotter, and niece Carley Lucas of Dallas, Texas. A memorial graveside, will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at Lee Cemetery of Winnsboro, Bro. Henry Suche officiating.
