Gwen Allen

Mrs. Gwen Allen of Mineola, Texas passed away November 22, 2006 at the age of 77. She was born February 24, 1929 to the late Eddie and Jewell Butler in Grand Saline. She was a member of the New Hope Baptist church and taught Sunday School for over 20 years. She enjoyed baking candy to take to the widows and widowers and those in the nursing homes. She is preceded in death by, one brother, Bill Butler; two sisters, Bobbie Land and Evelyn Oliver; and by two grandchildren, Ben Allen and Cody Hays. She is survived by her husband, Archie R. Allen of Mineola, Texas; son, David R. Allen and wife Robin of Winnsboro, Texas; two daughters, Linda Hays and husband Doug of Mineola, Texas and Lori Miller and husband Alan of Mineola, Texas; two brothers, Jimmy Butler of Tyler, Texas and Don Butler of Grand Saline, Texas; seven grandchildren, Gina Monk and husband Britt of Mineola, Wendy McBride and husband John of Grand Saline, Matthew Allen and wife Misty of Winnsboro, Beau Humble of Arkansas, Zachary Miller of Mineola, Lauren Miller of Mineola, and Courtney Miller of Mineola; ten great grandchildren, Dillian Monk, DatCota Monk, Dalton Monk, Brittainy Monk, Brooklyn Monk, JoCee McBride, Stormi McBride, Coletyn McBride, Jason Allen, and Caitlyn Allen.
