Harold Lee Johnson

Mr. Harold "Smiley" Johnson, age 79 of Winnsboro passed away on Friday, September 25, 2009. He was born in De Kalb on June 14, 1930 to the late William I. and Mary Lou Garrett Johnson. He retired from Wood County, where he was a road and bridge foreman, as well as retiring from the former Lee Ray Construction after 22 years. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Mineola. He was preceded in death by four brothers, three sister; one stepson, James Morrow; one great-granddaughter, Meladee Slaughter. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jane Tice Johnson of Winnsboro; two sons, Harold Johnson, Jr. of Allen, Bobby Hammond of Florida; four daughters, Martha Slaughter and husband Brad of Quitman, Vicki Harris and husband Chuck of Mineola, Debbie Goth of Waco, Teresa Johnson of Longview; one sister, Evelyn Gilbert of Sulphur, Ok.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
