Hazel J. Edwards

Mrs. Hazel J. Edwards, a lifetime resident of Winnsboro, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008 at the age of 95. She was born in Winnsboro on September 18, 1912 to the late M.M. Johnson and Maud Davis Johnson. She married Ray Edwards on Valentines Day of 1937; Ray preceded her in death on August 3, 1992. She was a graduate of Winnsboro High School, a homemaker, and member and elder at the Central Christian Church in Winnsboro. A brother, Dave Johnson; two sisters, Octo Newman, and Mozelle Johnson also preceded her in death. She is survived by three nephews, Steve Newman of Winnsboro, Dave Newman of Houston, Billy Edwards of Hewitt; two nieces, Priscilla Been of Tahlequah, Ok., Rebecca Smith of Tulsa, Ok.; one sister-in-law, Norma Lou England of Tahlequah Ok.; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by Beaty Funeral Home;816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro, Texas, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday, February 25, 2008. Funeral service will be at Beaty Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Monday, February 25, 2008 , Rev. Kevin Hollowell and Rev. Billy Edwards officiating. Interment will be at Lee Cemetery in Winnsboro, Texas. Memorials may be made to the Central Christian Church of Winnsboro Restoration Fund.
