Helen Jean Martin (Paris)

Helen Jean Martin, age 78, of Winnsboro, Texas, passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 25, 2025. She was born on September 20, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Willie Paris and Margie Jones Paris.

Helen spent most of her adult life in Winnsboro and developed a lifelong love for gardening, painting, and various arts and crafts. She also cherished the time spent enjoying outings with her girlfriends. Helen dedicated many years to her career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse before retiring.

A woman of faith, Helen was a devoted believer in Jesus and a member of Tranquil Baptist Church in Winnsboro, Texas, where she found joy in worship and singing old gospel hymns.

Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Martin; her mother, Margie Paris; her father, Willie Paris; her sister, Beverly Paris; her daughter, Angela Nicholson; and her grandson, Quincy Carter.

She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Lindley and husband Archie of Pickton, Texas; her brother, Billie Ray Paris; five grandchildren, Erica Carter, Brittany Story, Terrence Carter, Tedrick Shepherd, and Ajah Shepherd; five great-grandchildren; and beloved nieces, and many other extended family members and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Helen's selfless spirit, unwavering support, her dedication to work, and her love for her family and faith will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
