Helen Ray Myers

Helen Ray Myers, 94, of Cleburne, Texas, passed away on Oct. 14, 2023.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, at Cedars Memorial Gardens (formerly Mineola City Cemetery). Son-in-law J.D. Nichols of Naperville, Ill., will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023, at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola.

Ray was born in Roxton, Texas, on July 13, 1929. She was married to the late Arthur Douglas (Doug) Myers on Oct. 8, 1946. They were married 72 years.

Ray was a homemaker, loving wife and devoted mother of three. She was a prolific reader who loved to cook and garden.

Ray is survived by daughter Sherida Lynn Nichols and her husband J.D. of Naperville, Ill., daughter Valarie Mae Myers Ramsey of Denver, Colo., and son Douglas Ray Myers and his wife Rene’ of Cleburne, Texas; and four grandchildren, including Kristin Keely Nichols Epstein and her husband Joel of Oswego, Ill., Julie Anne Nichols Sorensen and her husband Mikk of Libertyville, Ill., Trey Douglas Myers of Fort Worth, Texas, and Tyler Glen Myers of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren – Sarah Anne Epstein, Katelyn Elizabeth Epstein, Matthew James Sorensen and one sister Linda Charlene Edwards of Temple, Texas.

Ray is preceded in death by her mother Ethel Mae McCann Hankins; her stepfather H.W. (Hank) Hankins; her father William (Bill) Forman; and sister Evelyn Louise Copeland.
