Herbert Day Houston

Herbert Day Houston, age 82, of Hawkins, Texas, died Saturday, August 4, 2012 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Wednesday, October 16, 1929 in Clovis, New Mexico to the late Kennon and Alice Houston. He was a farmer and a member of Holly Brook Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Houston of Holly Lake Ranch, Texas; four sons, Herbert Day Houston, Jr. of Laguna Vista, Texas, Travis Lynn Houston of Grand Caymen Islands, Lloyd Alan Houston of Spring, Texas, Samuel Douglas Houston of Holly Lake Ranch; a daughter, Deborah Ruth Harlan of Memphis, Tennessee; a sister, Wanda Yandell of Ft. Worth, Texas; thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Holly Brook Baptist Church at Holly Lake Ranch on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Larry Taylor officiating.

Interment will be at Holly Tree Cemetery following the funeral service.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Gentle Sheppard's Orphanage of Kenya in care of Holly Brook Baptist Church.
