Irma Geneva Carter, age 97, died Friday, May 13, 2011 in Mineola, Texas. She was born on Friday, January 23, 1914 in Point, Texas to the late George and Laverna Burchett. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs, Texas and was a talented Seamstress. She was valedictorian of her class at Point High School and was captain of the basketball team. She also penned the class motto, "Rowing, not drifting through life."
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Osha Monroe "Dude" Carter.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Carter and wife Debbie of Mineola, Texas and Manny Carter and wife Renate of Plano, Texas; a daughter, Lois Trammel and husband Bill of Mineola.
Visitation for Ms. Carter will be held on Monday May 16, 2011 from 10 - 11 AM.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Beaty Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Mineola with Rev. Lee Huff officiating.
