Irvin Berlin Hensley, age 88 of Winnsboro, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013 in Winnsboro. Irvin was born on April 24, 1924, in Hector, Arkansas. He was the last of two boys and four girls born to Irvin Virgil Hensley and Mary Clinkenbeard Hensley. His parents, brother, Alvin Hensley, and two sisters, Goldie Burnett, and Eva Cain predecease him. Irvin, known as "Curley" by most, left Arkansas and moved to Dallas after high school. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air force, worked at Western Electric and then spent more than 30 years at the Mobil field research lab in Dallas. He married Nellie Ruth Manes in 1950, and brought three children into the world. His youngest daughter, son, Michael Hensley and wife, Nellie Hensley predecease him. “Curley’s” life long passion was junk car restoration, and he was a founding member and president of the Dallas Model A Ford Club. He was also a member of the Winnsboro Autumn Trails A’s, the East Texas Lazy 8’s, The Dallas Early V8 Club, and the The Model A Ford Club of America. A loving dad and granddad, Berlin is survived by his daughter, Jana Johnson, son-in-law Gary of Winnsboro, granddaughter Jara, grandson-in-law James D’Souza, great granddaughter Jena of Bastrop, granddaughter Jamee, and grandson-in-law Colt Nitschke of Wills Point.
