Rev. Jack D. Boyd, age 87 of Winnsboro, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013. Jack was born on August 7, 1925 in Cooper, TX to the late John Prince Boyd and Pearl Emma Dean Boyd. He served in the US Army during World War II as a Military Policeman; he later graduated from the Westminster Bible College in Tehuacana, Texas. He was an ordained minister with the Congregational Methodist Church, in addition to working as a mechanic. He later attended Hesibah Baptist Church outside of Winnsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents; and nine siblings, Ellen Hankins, Mexie Butler, Sallie Skidmore, John Prince Boyd, Jr., Princess Boyd Brock, Judith Worth Skidmore, Norma Ruth Coursey, Betty Ann Boyd, and an infant brother. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Imogene Hargis Boyd of Winnsboro; sons, David Jack Boyd and wife Tracy of Pittsburg, Stephen Wesley Boyd and wife Melony of Scroggins; daughters, Martha Jean White and husband Michael of Gilmer, Judy Soules and husband John of Tyler, Jackie Lynn Barrett and husband Donnie of Pittsburg; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Services under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home, 816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro, TX where the family will receive friends on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 1:00 to 2:00 Pm, with funeral services following at 2:00 PM at the funeral home, Rev. Phil Greenawalt officiating, interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Purley, serving as pallbearers will be, Scott Murphy, Matt Stricklin, Jackson Boyd, Jonathan Boyd, Mitchell Boyd, Andrew Linder, and alternate- Tom Posey.
