It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Forsee, better know as Jack, beloved husband, father, and friend, who departed this life on March 18, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on January 19, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana, John spent his later years in Leesburg, Texas. He lived a life marked by service, dedication, and love for his family and community.
Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army from May 19, 1967, until his discharge on May 18, 1973, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Following his military service, he pursued a career in education, first as a computer programmer before transitioning to become a science and math teacher, inspiring countless students throughout his years in the classroom.
A devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church in Quitman, John was known for his fervent study of the Bible and his commitment to his faith. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he held a profound passion for sports, particularly basketball and football, which he enjoyed watching and discussing with family and friends.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Mary Forsee; his sons, John Forsee(Jeanne) and Brad Forsee; his daughter, Deena Woodruff; his step son, Paul Benton(Stephanie); his step daughters, Tina Wilson(Richard Dickey) and Vicki Keanu(Alan) his sister, Brenda Wills; and a large and cherished extended family, including 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and pride throughout his life.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Paul Forsee and Harriette Forsee; daughter, Stacy Forsee; brother, Denny Forsee and sister, Nancy Forsee.
Visitation will be held on March 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro, Texas. A graveside service will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery at 11:30 AM, where John will be laid to rest.
In this time of mourning, we celebrate the life of John Forsee, whose legacy of love, faith, and education will endure in the hearts of all who knew him.
