Jackie H Kennedy, age 79, of Winnsboro went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Friday, December 6,2013, in Paris, Texas.
Jackie was born on December 8, 1933 in Ropesville,Texas to Austin T Moore and Johnnie Staggs Moore. She met the love of her life, Al Kennedy, while attending Bethany Nazarene College, in Bethany, Oklahoma. She and Al were married on December 27,1953 in Abernathy, Texas.
She loved children of all ages, and after moving to Winnsboro in 1970, she owned and operated her own private kindergarten for several years. She made countless relationships with the families of her students. She later worked for the Texas Department of Human Services in various functions until she retired to her real love, shopping.
She and Al were faithful members of First Baptist Church, Winnsboro. She worked in the benevolence ministry, sang in the church choir, and she was a constant help to Al as he taught an adult couples Sunday School class for many years. Jackie was a woman who not only talked about her faith, but lived it on a daily basis. She and Al loved travelling, especially to Camp Albert Pike, Arkansas. They were also avid fans of the Winnsboro Lady Raider basketball teams and until their health began to fail, would travel near and far to watch the games.
She was preceeded in death by her parents Austin and Johnnie Moore, one brother, Gene Moore, and her loving husband, Al Kennedy. She is survived by sons, Jerry Kennedy and wife Beth of Monument, Colorado, Scott Kennedy and wife Robin of Paris, Texas, and one daughter, Deana Jaggers and husband Mike, of Mt. Vernon, Texas. She leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and a host of friends.
