Jacob Mikal Burrell

Jacob Mikel Burrell, age 15 of Mineola, Texas, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Tuesday, January 16, 1996 in Tyler, Texas. He attended First Baptist Church of Mineola and Bar-None Cowboy Church in Henderson, TX. He attended Mineola High school where he competed in track, shot-put, football, and was involved in the Ag program. He studied karate at Mr. Yager's Martial Arts, where he was a brown belt. He was a member of the Northwest Airsoft organization and loved playing the guitar.

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Claude and Sue Burrell, Jimmy Pope, and Patricia Smiley

He is survived by his father, Philip K. Burrell and wife Becky of Troup; mother, Jamie P. Johnson and husband Al of Mineola; step grandparents Terry and Wanda Mize of Flint and John and JoNelle Harley of Mineola; a great grandmother, Ruth Smiley of Flint; one brother, Michael Green of the Cayman Islands; two sisters, Courtney Johnson and Brittney Johnson of Mineola.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 4 - 6 PM at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola.

Services for Jacob Burrell will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Sand Springs Baptist Church in Mineola with Rev. Jerry Jackson and Bro. Kendall Banks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Jacob Burrell Scholarship Fund at Capital One Bank in Mineola, TX.
