James Meek Buchanan

James M. Buchanan, AKA “Mr. Jim” was born in East Liverpool, OH on May 25, 1926, and moved at an early age to Wheeling, West Virginia. He served in the Navy in WWII. Upon completion of his Naval service, he went to WVU and completed his degree in Electrical Engineering in 1951. He married Joan Metz in 1951. He is survived by his three children, Sandra Louise Johnson, Patricia Lynn Bruington and Douglas James Buchanan, all of Washington State.

In 1983 he married Lynette Buchanan of Monterey, CA. He was a stepfather to Kimberly Hynes of Florida, Kristopher Logan of California, Kerry Logan (deceased) of Virginia, Kendall Logan of Hungary and six grandchildren.

He loved music and had his own bagpipe band in California. He enjoyed teaching and tutoring at the First United Methodist Church at various times.

Alzheimer’s took his past and then his present, but he has now transitioned into his glorious future. Thank you, Father. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, November 29th, 2021 at First United Methodist Church of Mineola at 2:00 pm.
