With heavy hearts and fond memories, we announce the passing of James Milton Comer, affectionately known as "Snuffy," who left us peacefully on August 31, 2026, at the age of 77. Born in Groesbeck, Texas, James lived a full life in Winnsboro, where he was cherished by family and friends.
James was not only a dedicated brand inspector with the Texas Southwest Cattle Raisers Association, but he was also a passionate outdoorsman who loved fishing. He enjoyed countless hours spent in front of the TV and savoring good times with a cold beer in hand, always surrounded by those he loved most.
He is survived by his beloved daughters, Shella Cash, Alisha Adams, and her husband, Bryan and his son Robert Riza and wife, Elizabeth. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Caden Adams, Tatum Adams, Clayton Cash, Randall Cash, Hope Riza, Kaitlyn Riza, Austin Riza, and Andrew Riza, as well as his great-grandchild, Huntleigh.
In celebration of James's life, we invite family and friends to come together for a graveside service at Winfield Cemetery on September 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Before the service, there will be a visitation at Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro, starting at 9:00 AM. Let us honor Snuffy, sharing stories and laughter, just as he would have wanted.
Please join us in remembering the joy and love he spread during his time with us. James Milton Comer will forever be in our hearts.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Sue Comer; parents, Elmer Comer and Berla Mae Comer; brother, Bubba Comer, and sister Carolyn Thompson.
