James Leo Dunaway

James Dunaway, age 74 of Alba, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021, at his home on Lake Fork with his wife Phyllis and family by his bedside. He was born on August 20th, 1947, in Los Angeles, California to the late Carrol and Betty Terrio Dunaway. James was a 1965 graduate of Carson High School in California and served honorably with the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam from 1966 to 1968, attaining the rank Sgt. James was a loyal grandson and son. He was a great father and provider and amazing grandfather. He loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his devoted wife Phyllis (Aaron) Dunaway of 54 years, son; Michael Dunaway and wife Marina of Lake Dallas, TX, daughters; Karen Bowery and husband Jarel of Gladewater, TX, Kathryn Gibson and husband Kevin of New Braunsfels, TX, sisters, Mary Moore and husband Danny of Highland Village, TX, Geneva Dunaway and husband Richard Geib of Mission, Texas, step-brother; Gordon Pender of Lone Oak, Texas, aunt; Lucille McCombs of Bryan, Texas, grandchildren; Alexander, Darya, Milana, Dalton, James Garrett and wife Riley, Courtney, Hailey, great grandchildren, Charlee Grace and Andie Cole, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins. Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens 5396 S. State Hwy 37 Mineola, Texas 75773 at 2:00 pm. Military Honors by the U.S. Marine Corps Color Guard and Chaplain David Badders, officiating.
