James Ray Green, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on July 17, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on March 13, 1953, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, James dedicated his life to serving his community and nurturing those around him.

James was a treasured member of the Winnsboro community, where he spent many years working as a machinist for Texas Wall Systems. His craftsmanship and dedication to his work shone through in everything he did. Prior to that, he shared his commitment to service at Beaty Funeral Home, where he took pride in assisting families during their times of need.

His passion for life extended beyond his professional endeavors. As an avid hunter, James found solace in the great outdoors, often pursuing deer with friends and family. His love for the community was evident through his active involvement in the Rotary Club of Winnsboro and his dedicated service on the city council for two terms.

James was a long-standing member of the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro, where he cultivated deep friendships and played a vital role within the congregation. His faith was a guiding force in his life, impacting all who had the privilege to know him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Green; his devoted daughter, Amanda Geffers and husband Brad; his step-son Cliff Patrick; his brothers, Richard Green, and wife Christy and Jimmy Green and wife Nancy; as well as his grandchildren, Kaleb Edwards and wife Maegan, and Kaylee Edwards, and his great-grandchildren, Joshua Everett and Avery Edwards. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit and love in their hearts.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro on July 22, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00pm, where all who loved him will gather to reminisce and celebrate his life.

James Green will be deeply missed, but his influence will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

James was preceded in death by his parents James Vernon Green and Alice Mae Green and brother, Randy Green.
