James Ervin Hyder, Jr., a member of the Mineola Church of Christ, age 80 of Mineola, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015. He was born February 12, 1935 in Madison, TN to James Ervin Hyder, Sr. and Laura (Duke) Hyder. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Hyder’s love of airplanes led him to a career in the aviation industry working for Texas Instruments and Raytheon/E-Systems. He loved spending time visiting with friends and family, coaching his sons’ football and baseball teams, fishing, playing guitar, and was an avid photographer. He is survived by his loving wife Jackie (Raburn) Hyder; two sons, Lance Hyder & girlfriend Connie Hall of Arlington, TX, and Kyle Hyder & wife Marcie (McCarter) of Forney, TX; two grandsons, Jake & Seth Hyder; sister, Mary Love “Toni” Williams & husband Thomas of Rockwall, TX; and sisters- & brothers-in-law and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Claude Hyder, John Hyder & Bobby R. Hyder; and sister Dorothy Rasor. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2015, a funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola, TX, 5396 S. St. Highway 37, Mineola, TX 75773. Internment services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015 at D/FW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX 75211.
