James Morgan Mecklin

Mr. James Morgan Mecklin passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the age of 91. He was born on September 3, 1921 to the late James Creath Mecklin and Eva Morgan Mecklin. Mr. Mecklin was a 32nd Degree Mason, serving over 60 years. He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church; awarded WWII Selective Service Medal for faithful and loyal service; member of the Antique International Appraisers Association; instrumental in founding "Aladdin Knights"; and served as an antique Judge at the Lubbock, Texas fair for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Elizabeth Mecklin. Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Gene "Becky" Mecklin; sons, James David Mecklin, Joseph Alan Mecklin, Jarrell Wayne Thurman, John Alan Herndon and Brian Herndon; daughter, Donna Lee Mecklin Wilder; fourteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
