November 23, 1974 — June 17, 2020

James Charles (Jamie) Melville, Winnsboro was born November 23, 1974 to Dianna and Richard (Rick) Melville in Garland, Texas. Jamie is preceded in death by his father, Rick Melville, grandparents, James F. and Doris Melville and Cynthia and William (Mike) Schmiegel. He is survived by his only child, Peyton Nekole Melville of Winnsboro, his mother and stepfather, Dianna and James White of Winnsboro; his fiancee, Terra Hurt; sister, Shawn Gessford of Winnsboro; two brothers, Richard Lanier of Quinlan, Texas and Edward Melville and his wife, Juliana of Carlsbad, New Mexico; two step sisters, Jamie D. White of Leonard, texas and Marie Roach of Austin, TX; cousin, Tina McClung and numerous nieces and nephews. Jamie had an abundance of friends who loved and cherished his love and friendship. He loved helping others and had begun his educational endeavors to become a drug and alcohol counselor before the pandemic. It was his intention to return to classes in the fall of 2020 in order to continue his education. Additionally, he had reached out to Judge Kelli Aiken to start and open up a pathway to help addicts get into a recovery program known as Cenikor Foundation. Because he pioneered the way, Hunt county judges, began offering Cenikor as a pathway to recovery rather than a prison sentence. He now has new friends who cherish him for his efforts and there will be many more who will benefit in the future. A memorial service will be held to celebrate James life on Saturday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the Wood County Cowboy Church on FM 2088. **By order of the Governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, all who attend must wear a face mask.
