James Homer Sparkman Jr.

James Homer Sparkman Jr. was born September 27, 1929, to James and Maudie Sparkman. He went to be with our Lord and Savior on June 2, 2022.

James was a member of Central Baptist Church, Mineola, Texas. He worked as an Engineer for the Texas Highway Department. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family. He also honorably served in the US Navy during the Korean War.

James married Dorothy Mae Stinnett on June 11, 1955. He is survived by four children; James Bobby Sparkman and wife, Patti Sparkman of Mineola, Texas; Timothy Homer Sparkman of Mineola, Texas; Cynthia Lujan Wiseman of Austin, Texas; Trish McEnturff of Mineola, Texas. He had nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Sparkman; father and mother and sister, Naomi Ruth.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 6, 2022 from 6-8p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2022 at

10:00 am at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola. Services will be officiated by Brother Fred Morrow and Bro. Michael Mize. In lieu of flowers family has requested donations can be made to Central Baptist Church, Mineola Building Fund.
