James Michael Treppa, 72 of Quitman, TX passed away on Friday, February 28, 2020 in Houston, TX. He was born on July 29, 1947 in Fort Worth, TX to the late Joseph Ferris Treppa and Minnie Louise Hall Treppa. He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Treppa of Quitman, sons, Michael Shane Treppa and David Joseph Treppa both of Fort Worth, and daughter Shelly Shields of Newcastle; grandchildren, Kelsey Shields of Newcastle, Addison and Brooks Treppa of Glen Rose, Emery and Beau Shields of Newcastle; a sister, Suzanne DiCarlo (Vincent) and nephew, Jack (Colleen) DiCarlo and niece, Halley DiCarlo. Michael lived to play golf and loved to fish. He was a disabled veteran who served his country as a Marine during Vietnam,awarded 4 purple hearts. He was a radio man and sniper in the 1st battalion, 1st Marines. He received his BBA from Texas Weslyn, worked as a Golf Pro, Merchants Truck Line and USPS. He grew up working in his Dad's cabinet shop. They could and did build anything. They also shared a love of golf, fishing and hunting. He grew up in Texas, but also lived in Minnesota, where he and his wife enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing and the wilderness. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th, 2020 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy Dallas, TX 75211 at 11:30 am. A Visitation will follow from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm at Spring Creek BBQ 4108 South Carrier Parkway Grand Prairie, Texas 75052.
