James Michael Willis

Mr. James Michael Willis, age 76 of Mt. Vernon, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at his home. He was born on December 19, 1946 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Buster Jinks Willis and Gladys Opal Willis.

Mike received his bachelor’s degree in business from North Texas State University, was a Real Estate Broker and Appraiser for over 50 years and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Annie Loreace Lewis.

Survivors include his loving wife, of 47 years, Janice Willis of Mt. Vernon; son, Jordan Willis and his wife Amy of Dallas; daughters, Brandie Craver and her husband, Craig of Mt. Vernon, Jennie Logan and her husband, Wade of Mt. Vernon, and Amada McLeroy and her husband, Neil of Humble; sisters, Betty Culley of Wichita Falls and Wynonna Rutledge of Mt. Vernon; eight grandchildren, Corbin, Madilyne, Noah, Garrett, Raelyn, Graham, Wyatt, and Katelyn.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home 816 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm with Bro. Chris Lewis conducting,

Interment will be at Hopewell Cemetery in Winnsboro with Don Rose, Corbin Craver, Noah Craver, Garrett Logan, Wyatt McLeroy, and Graham Willis serving as pallbearers.
