Jane Tice Johnson, age 70 of Winnsboro, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 in Winnsboro. Jane was born on May 5, 1943 in San Angelo to the late Edwin Thomas Tice and Virginia Ruth Everstine Tice. Jane married Harold Lee "Smiley" Johnson on August 25, 1966 in Sulphur Springs. They were married 42 years before he went home to be with the Lord. Jane was also preceded in death by her parents; son, James Morrow; sister, Barbara Evans; great-granddaughter, Meladee Slaughter; nephew, Mike DeWan; great-nephew, Mike DeWan, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Martha Slaughter and husband Brad of Quitman; granddaughter, Christi Slaughter; and two great-grandchildren, Kellie and Brooklin; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Jane retired from Valley Feed Mill in May of 2013 after 21 years. She was also a past treasurer for the Wood County Realtors and Sharon Water Supply Associations. She was of the Methodist Faith, but attended New Hope Baptist Church in Mineola and ask that donations be made to the New Hope Building Fund.
