Janelea Brooks

Mrs. Janelea "Janie" Brooks, age 72 of Garland, passed away on Wednesday, October 31st, 2018 in Garland. She was born on January 29th, 1946 in Ashville, North Carolina to the late H.B. Shirley and Emmalea McKinney Shirley. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church of Crandle and was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Bronwynn Melissa Howerton, brothers, Jimmy Shirley, Mac Shirley and Joe Shirley and one grandchild, Dustin Lane Howerton. She is survived by her husband, Jerry (Ron) Brooks of Garland; sons, Darrell Howerton and his wife Dina of Dallas and Bobby Howerton and his wife Michelle of Ponchatoula, Louisiana; seven brothers, Perry Shirley of Leesburg, David Shirley of Quitman, Garon Shirley of Cartwright, Lewis Shirley of Garland, H.B. Shirley, Jr. of Conway Arkansas, Jon Shirley of Winnsboro and Tim Shirley; one sister, Elizabeth Chapman of Waynesboro, Mississippi; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Pineview Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 at Pineview Baptist Church at 11:00 am, Rev. Perry Shirley and Rev. Darrell Howerton conducting, interment will follow at Pineview Cemetery in Winnsboro, with Bobby Howerton, James Shirley, Cameron Weems, Thomas Weems, Aaron Howerton, and Jon Shirley, Jr. Steven Hataway, Michael Laake serving as pallbearers.
