Services for Jason Lee Hightower, 37, Winnsboro, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Gilmer, with State President Bart Austin officiating.


Burial will be in Kelsey Cemetery under direction of Beaty Funeral Home, Winnsboro.


Mr. Hightower died Friday, March 20, 2009, at Playas De Tijuana, Mexico.


He was born March 30, 1971, in Huntsville. He graduated from Winnsboro High School and Texas A&M University. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Quitman, and owner of KMOO Radio in Mineola.


He received the 2009 Humanitarian of the Year Award at this year's Mineola Chamber of Commerce Banquet. He served as master of ceremony for many events such as spelling bees, chamber banquets and hay shows. He was keynote speaker at the National Convention for the Pilot Club several years ago.


He also served on the Wood County Junior Livestock Show board of directors, the board of directors for Mineola Development Inc. and the Texas Association of Broadcasters board of directors where he was the current chairman. He was involved in the Children's Miracle Network Fundraiser and served on the CMN community advisory board for Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics. He was Radio MASH event director and community liaison for the annual holiday toy drive benefiting less fortunate children in the Bryan-College Station area, a member of the American Heart Association's Brazos Valley Chapter board of directors and past president of the Brazos Valley Food Bank board of directors.


Survivors include his wife, Ingrid Hightower of Winnsboro; sons, Brazos Hightower and Wyatt Hightower, both of Winnsboro; daughter, Halee Grace Hightower of Winnsboro; parents, Don and Patricia Hightower of Winnsboro; grandparents, Dorothea Hightower of Mount Vernon, Horace Ray and Thelma Lewis of Pine Forest; sister, Amy Hightower of Plano; sisters-in-law, Erricka Walton of Rowlett and Aleasha Smith of Augusta, Ga.; and mother- and father-in-law, Hans and Karen Hansen of Winnsboro.


Pallbearers are Hans Hansen, Buck Hansen, Roger Hansen, David Hansen, Don Hansen, Chris Walton, Josh Smith and Clay Craft.


Honorary pallbearers are John Hines, Jeff Hamm, Kenny Smith, Lance Seahorn, Roy Gene Munse, David Lloyd and Kris Buth.


Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.


Memorials may be made to Children's Miracle Network.
