Jeanie Burns

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jeanie Burns, beloved mother, sister, and friend, who left this world peacefully on July 17, 2026, at the age of 73. Jeanie was born on June 10, 1953, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, and spent her entire life in the charming town of Winnsboro, where she cultivated deep roots and strong ties within her community.

Jeanie was a dedicated homemaker who poured her heart into her family and loved ones. She is survived by her cherished son, Matthew Burns, and siblings Tony Morris, Kathryn Morris, Gaylon Morris, and Norma Morris, along with sister-in-law Carla Morris. Her nurturing spirit and unconditional love will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Jeanie was an active member of the Winnsboro community. She devoted her time to the Parent Teacher Association for Winnsboro ISD, where she fostered a supportive and enriching environment for children and their families. Jeanie also shared her passion for crocheting and genealogy, often bringing joy to others with handmade gifts and family stories that bridged generations.

Additionally, Jeanie was an enthusiastic participant in the Winnsboro Weight Watchers organization, displaying her commitment to health and wellness while encouraging others to embrace their journeys. Her warmth, compassion, and unwavering support were a beacon of light for many.

Above all, Jeanie cherished her time spent worshiping the Lord. An active member of First Baptist Church of Winnsboro, Jeanie cherished her time spent in worship and bible study with her Sunday school class and embraced the fellowship spent with her church family.

Funeral services for Jeanie will be held on July 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support shown during this difficult time. Jeanie's legacy of kindness and dedication will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Jeanie was preceded in death by: her parents, Wanda Morris and Gaylon Morris; sisters, Barbara Morris and Gayle Morris and husband, Larry Burns.
