Jeanne Johnston, born on June 6, 1962, to Robert Joseph and Jeanne Emch Johnston in Midland, Texas, passed away surrounded by her family on October 5, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. Jeanne spent her childhood on a large ranch in Midland, where she would ride her horse all day, always returning home by dark. As she grew older, her love for adventure continued, especially after she got her driver’s license and began cruising in her golden Trans-Am, blasting Van Halen and attending rock concerts with unmatched enthusiasm.
In 1999, Jeanne gave birth to her beloved daughter, Destiny Johnston. From 2005, she raised Destiny as a single mother, until 2011, when she found the love of her life, Mike Newman, and together they made their home in Winnsboro. Jeanne was known for her radiant smile and warm, nonjudgmental nature, bringing love and positivity into every interaction. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like watching horror movies, true crime shows, and laughing along to her favorite comedies, SNL and the Chappelle Show.
Jeanne also cherished the outdoors, always finding peace in nature, and had a special love for animals, especially cats, dogs, and birds. Above all, she was devoted to her family, consistently working to make their lives better. Jeanne's loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
