Jeffrey Wayne Clappe, of Winnsboro, TX, left this earthly home January 25, 2025 at the age 73. Jeff was born January 7, 1952 to Wayne and Margret Clappe in Bryan, OH where he was raised with his 3 siblings. He graduated from Bryan High School and studied at Michigan Technological University before joining the United States Air Force. He was stationed at a remote radar station in Alaska and eventually in Tampa, FL where he married and started a family. After joining the private sector, he made successful careers with Calma (later GE through acquisition) and then Electronic Data Systems. After a brief retirement, he went to work in Iraq & Afghanistan as a project manager for Weston Solutions.
Jeff was a loving father, grandfather, and friend. He was generous and tender-hearted, especially when it came to children and animals. He even became a first-time foster parent at the age of 64. After moving to Wood County, TX to take on his new role as “head of ranch security” (a running joke he had with his son-in-law), he attended Wood County Cowboy Church as long as he was physically able, and then faithfully attended online from then on.
Jeff is survived by his loving family: son Bryan Clappe, and his wife, Meggan, of Cortez, CO; daughter Jennifer Ingram, and her husband, Brant, of Winnsboro, TX; his grandchildren Zayne, Zarren, and Zoë of CO and OR; his sister Virginia Blum, and her husband Mike of Bryan, OH; his sister Patti Gardner and husband, Dennis, of Holland, OH; bonus daughter, Amy Taylor, and bonus grandchildren, Delaynie, Jett, and Cooper, all of OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jeff was welcomed home by our Heavenly Father, and the family and friends who believed and were called home before him. Though we are grieved by our current separation, we are thankful for our earthly time together and look forward to our Heavenly reunion.
The family would like to thank Carriage House Manor of Sulphur Springs and Choice Hospice for their skilled and compassionate care of their loved one. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wood County Cowboy Church in Jeff’s memory.
