Jelle Jongsma

May 15, 1930 — November 13, 2019

Jelle Jongsma was born on May 15, 1930 in the Netherlands. Jelle went to be with the Lord on November 13, 2019. Jelle was a dairy farmer all his life and he loved to garden. He also never let a moment go by to tell somebody about Jesus. Jelle met his loving wife of 47 years, Wiepie on the dairy farm. Jelle moved his family to Winnsboro, Texas in 1984, where they bought a farm. Jelle was an active member of First Baptist Church and served on the prayer team. He was also active within the Dutch community, where he was instrumental in starting the annual Dutch Christmas and Easter services. Jelle loved to travel and after retirement he also enjoyed camping with the RV. Survivors include his wife Wiepie; sons Jochem and wife Hennie, Harm, Olke and wife Hilda, Henk, Freerk and wife Sarah; five daughters Hermien and husband Heerke, Janke and husband Johannes, Trientsje and husband Efraim, Appie, and Geertje and husband Luc; 27 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Albertje, infant son Jochum and son-in-law Jouke. If desired donations can be made to Open Doors Ministries or the Franklin Graham Ministries.
