Jessica Thompson

Jessica Jan Rutherford Thompson, age 45, of Winnsboro, Texas passed on October 22, 2019 at the farm she loved surrounded by family and friends. Jessica was born on June 18, 1974 in Denison, Texas to the late Mark D. Rutherford and Sherri Scism Rutherford. In 1992, she graduated from Marcus High School in Flower Mound. Jessica never wanted to miss school, not for the academics, but because something might happen that day that she didn’t know about. She loved knowing everyone’s story and was a great listener. Jessica was married to her prince, Kevin Thompson, for over 20 years. She loved being a Mom to Caitlin, Jacob and Kade in addition to the many kids that seemed to end up in her car for school, after school at their house and spending the night. She was involved in PTA in Plano and Caitlin’s English riding training and competitions. Jessica loved all animals including her chickens, horses, dogs, cats, rabbit and guinea pigs. Jessica would hunt and fish too and loved these family activities. In addition to her husband, children and mother Jessica is survived by her stepdaughters, Jessica Garcia, Lauren Nix and Karen Thompson; Step-Sister Leah Wittner and half-sister MaDonna Penick and grandfather Jerry Scism and a large group of extended family.
