Jessie Faye Franks, born on December 12, 1944, in Marion, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026. She lived a fulfilling life and made her home in Baytown, Texas, where she became known for her warm heart and nurturing spirit.
Faye was a devoted homemaker and an incredible baker, with a special flair for cake decorating. She completed the Wilton Method of Cake Decorating courses I & II and took great joy in crafting beautiful cakes that brought smiles to her family and friends. Her love for baking was just one of the many ways she expressed her affection for those around her.
When she wasn't in the kitchen, Faye could be found lost in a good book, enjoying her passion for reading, or indulging in one of her favorite hobbies like bird watching or gardening. She had a green thumb, and her garden was a testament to her dedication and love for nature.
Above all, Faye was a loving matriarch, doting on her family, which she cherished deeply.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents Freeman Nichols and Francis Nichols, her husband Fred Franks, her infant son Stevie Joe Fried, her son Mark Fried, her daughter Barbara Smith, her sister Mary Alice Huggins, and her brothers Benny Nichols and Jimmy Nichols.
She is survived by her beloved daughters: Jerrie Patterson, Beth Casas, and LeAnn Pigg, along with son-in-laws Raul Casas, Michael Patterson, and Kirk Douglas Pigg. Faye was a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren and adored great-grandmother to 28 great-grandchildren. Each family member held a special place in her heart, and she never missed an opportunity to show them just how much they meant to her.
A visitation will be held at Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Mineola on February 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with the service to follow at 2:00pm. All who knew and loved Faye are welcome to come and celebrate her life.
Faye's warmth and kindness will be remembered by all who knew her. She will be dearly missed.
