Mrs. Jima Lee Leach, age 86 of Mineola, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2021 in the hospital in Quitman, Texas. She was born on May 10, 1934 in Prairieville, Texas to the late Henry Gatlin and Minnie Blackmon Gatlin. Jima was a pillar of her family and the community. She enjoyed her time as being a Bookeeper all the way up until her retirement. She was a strong, independent, and vivacious woman who enjoyed the simple things in life and loved everyone she met and embraced them with a genuine and loving heart. Everyone who met her left with a memory of her - she was big on leaving impressions even though she didn't crave the attention. She was very attentive in her social life and listened to others and had advice ready for those who sought it from her. Extremely easy to talk to and get along with - a very gentle and sweet spirit that was a blessing to all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bob" Gene Leach (whom she was married to for 54 years) and son, Garry Don Leach. She is survived by her daughter, Nina Cole and husband, Don of Mineola; sister, Maxine Pope of Cedar Hill; grandchildren, Jared Denniston and wife Meghan, Jason Denniston and wife Kayla, and Leah Leach; great grandchildren, Hunter, Caleb, Kiron, Aston, and Lennon Denniston. Private family services will be held at a later date.
