Jimmy Lynn Thornburgh, a dedicated husband and skilled carpenter, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024, at the age of 85. He was born on December 29, 1938, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to the late Karl Edward Thornburgh and Cybil Beatrice Bright.
Jimmy was known for his unwavering work ethic and passion for carpentry. Throughout his career, he crafted beautiful pieces and left a lasting impact on those who were fortunate enough to witness his craftsmanship.
A member of the Pritchett Missionary Baptist Church, Jimmy found solace and strength in his faith. He was actively involved in church activities and cherished the moments spent singing hymns alongside his fellow congregants.
Outside of his professional and religious endeavors, Jimmy found joy in spending time with his beloved wife, Sheryl Thornburgh. Together, they shared many cherished memories and experiences.
In his free time, Jimmy could often be found indulging in his hobbies, particularly singing and attending church services. His passion for music and his unwavering devotion to his faith were evident to all who knew him.
Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sheryl Thornburgh; sons, Justin Nicks and Michael Thornburgh; his sisters, Laverne Gaither, Nelda Foust, and Anna Durr; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Cybil Thornburgh, his brother Karl Dean, and his sister Juanice Baratcher. Although he will be deeply missed, Jimmy's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
