J.M. "Red" Whittiker

Mr. J. M. "Red" Wittiker passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009 at the age of 81. He was born on March 28, 1928 to the late Peter Randolph Whittiker and Emma Lee Campbell Whittiker. Mr. Whittiker served in the U.S. Air Force and married the former Lena Fay Bradshaw on February 22, 1946. He was a member of the Little Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and as treasurer. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Hawkins, member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Quitman, member of the Woodman of the World and the Scottish Rite. Mr. Whittiker was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and nine brothers. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Lena Fay Whittiker of Winnsboro; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Cherie Whittiker of Quitman and Ronnie and Karen Whittiker of Quitman; daughters and son-in-law, Rose Mary and Ricky Harrell of Winnsboro and Wanda Green of Winnsboro; sister, Elsie Durbin of Leesburg; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
