Joe Dalton Darby

Mr. Joe Dalton Darby passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at the age of 89. He was born on January 21, 1925 to the late Loraine Darby and Oddie Burks Darby. Mr. Darby served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a retired carpenter and builder. Mr. Darby was a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church, where he was ordained as a Deacon in 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and his wife of 68 years, Mrs. Fern Craddock Darby on July 6, 2012. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Jay Franklin of Newark and Sheila and Ronny Lee of Winnsboro; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Lucy Taylor of Jacksonville and Mattie Lou and Howard Conway of Forney; five grandchildren, Coy and Julie Highsmith of San Antonio, Amber and Justin High of Weatherford, Tiffany and Keith Witthaus of Azle, Jeremy Lee and Joshua Lee of Winnsboro; five great grandchildren, Chance Garcia, Cayden Garcia Kimberly Witthaus, Carter High and Reagan High.
