Joe Waymond Harrison, 70, of Hawkins, TX died on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 in Tyler, TX. He was born on Saturday, August 5, 1944 in Bastrop County, TX to the late Floyd Waymond and Jaunita Louise Harrison.

Joe was a member and preacher of Northeast Texas Cowboy Church in Hawkins, TX. He was a retired electrician and enjoyed playing the drums on the weekend, having once preformed on the Grand Ole Opry stage. Joe also competed in the rodeo and won several gold buckles.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Wilkins-Harrison of Hawkins; TX; two sons, Kenny Wilkins and wife Theresa of Lewisville, TX, Kevin Wilkins and wife Teresa of North Carolina; daughter, Rhonda Phillips and husband Steve of Hawkins, TX; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and his dog Susie.

Graveside service will be at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM officiated by Morgan Whitley.
