Joe Hurst

Joe Harold Hurst, age 75 of Mineola, Texas, passed away Wednesday, December 25th in Kingwood, Texas. Joe was born in Sherman, Texas on January 16th, 1938 to the late Leander Ray Hurst and Melba Riley. A graduate of Austin College in Sherman, Texas in 1960, an officer and veteran of the US Marine Corp. On March 10, 1962, he married Sandra L. Davis at Camp Pendleton, CA, he later worked in insurance until his retirement in 1992 as a branch manager for Ohio Casaulty Insurance Company. He also was on the Board of Directors with Hocheim Insurance. He is survived by his wife, and 5 sons, Craig Michael Hurst of Huntsville, Alabama, Jeffery Riley Hurst of Arlington, Texas, John Matthew Hurst and wife Karen of Tyler, Texas, Andrew Jay Hurst and wife Tracy of Kingwood, Texas and Corey Lee Hurst and wife Lisa of Texarkana, Texas, 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and neice, Beverly Melladew and husband Jim of Swanton, Vermont. He is preceded by death by his father, mother and brother, Bob R. Hurst. In lieu of flowers, you can donate to the Alzheimer’s Association.
