John Henry Coburn

John Henry Coburn, age 79 of Mineola, Texas, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on Friday, March 18, 1932 in North Zulch, Texas to the late Henry Webster and Vesta McGough Coburn. He was a member of the Mineola Optimist Club and the Kiwanis Club. He was the Administrator for the Mineola Hospital and owner of Coburn Shoes in downtown Mineola. He was a retired U.S. Navy Command Master Chief having served 25 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 44 years, Patricia Norma Coburn; and a son, John Eric.

He is survived by his second wife Betty Coburn; three daughters, Mercy Rushing and husband Tim of Canton, Texas, Mary Ann Roseberry of Mineola, Texas, Norma Jean Balcom of Plano, Texas; four brothers, Truman Coburn, Carlton Coburn, Doyle Coburn and Paul Coburn; three sisters, Leoma Farris, Bonnie Farris and Mildred Jean Stephens; seven grand children and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 6 - 8 PM at Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Beaty Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Mark Neeley officiating.
