John Fredrick Heimgartner

January 27, 1944 — March 8, 2023

John Heimgartner took his final journey to be with the Lord on March 8, 2023.

John is survived by his wife JoAnne, daughter Cathey Dunphy and son-in-law Del

Dunphy, step daughter Joey Telford and son-in-law Theron Telford, grandchildren

(Brandon, Samantha and Victoria), great-grandchildren (Aiden, Tanner and

Bailey), brother Lenny Heimgartner and sister-in-law Michelle Heimgartner.

Countless friends, customers, employees, and patrons from all over the country.

John was born on January 27, 1944 to parents John F. Heimgartner, Sr. and Isabel

Wiltz. John began his professional career with Sherwin Williams for 25 years,

before partnering with John Zimmerer to start Jonsco Painting. Jonsco Painting

quickly became one of the most successful commercial painting contractors in the

DFW metroplex.

John had many passions, including music, cooking, hunting, fishing, and doing for

others. Due to his success with Jonsco, he was blessed to be able to chase these

passions at Lake Fork. The balance of his life was dedicated to building a home,

acquiring “Fisherman’s One Stop” and the incomparable “Bro’s Patio” for 20 years,

featuring his signature boiled crawfish.

John was instrumental in positively impacting the Yantis community by supporting

many fundraisers over the years, including Lands End Volunteer Fire Department,

Sun Eagle Bay, Wolf Creek Homeowners Association and countless fishing

tournaments. John exuded professionalism in all that he did and certainly loved to

laugh in his journey through life. John was also a very private person, Catholic in

religion and was given last rights by his priest near the end.

Rest well John Heimgartner, in the house of our Lord, knowing that you live every

day in the hearts of all that were blessed to have crossed your path in life.
