John Wylie McAuley, Jr.

It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of John Wylie McAuley Jr. on June 9, 2023. Born on March 11, 1942, in Mt. Vernon, John's life was filled with love, joy, and an unwavering commitment to his faith and family.

He leaves a remarkable legacy that will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

John was a devoted husband of fifty-five years to his beloved wife, Dorothy Rains McAuley, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and partnership.

As a father, John's love and guidance were instrumental in shaping his son's life, John ‘Clint’ McAuley. He took immense pride in watching him grow into the man he has become in life and in his marriage to Carly. John found tremendous joy in

the role of a doting ‘Mandad’ to his cherished grandchildren, Sarah and Dean McAuley, who brought boundless happiness into his life.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Wiley McAuley Sr., Beatrice 'Ruth' Wylie McAuley, and his brother, James Franklin McAuley.

A man of unwavering faith, John was an active member of his community and a devoted servant of his church, Green Acres Baptist Church, Tyler and First Baptist Church, Winnsboro. He touched countless lives with his kind heart, selflessness, and willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need. John's presence and genuine care for others illuminated the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

During his time on Earth, John cultivated lifelong friendships that were a testament to his loyalty and warmth. Those closest to him, including Clint McAuley, Danny Kelly, Kenny Spurlin, Lynn Swanner, Chuck Cone, Johan Wessels, and honorary pallbearer Dean McAuley, will forever hold his memory dear in their hearts.

As we gather to bid farewell to John, let us remember his life as one lived in service to the one true God, the Lord of Lords. While his physical presence may no longer be with us, his legacy will continue to inspire us in our daily lives.

In this time of profound loss, may we find solace at the feet of Jesus and hold close to the cherished memories we shared with John. Let us celebrate his life and honor his legacy by embodying the qualities he exemplified: kindness, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to God. Rest in peace, dear John. You have left an

indelible mark on our hearts.
