Mr. John D. McElyea, age 69 of Winnsboro, passed away on Sunday, March 07, 2010. He was born on Friday, October 25, 1940 in Winnsboro to the late DeWitt McElyea and Gladys Clark McElyea. He was a retired United States Post Master; a member of the Gus Garrison Masonic Lodge, and the National Association of Post Masters
He was preceded in death by a brother, James D. McElyea; and a sister, Barbara D. McElyea. He is survived by his wife, Judy McElyea of Winnsboro; son, Chris McElyea and wife Annette of Winnsboro; daughter, Sherri D. McElyea of Tyler; three grandchildren, Shelby, Lucas and Preston.
