John Allen Smith

January 11, 1928 — February 20, 2008

Mr. John Allen Smith, Jr., age 80, of Mineola, Texas, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in Tyler, Texas. Mr. Smith was retired from Mid-Continent Supply in Ft. Worth, Texas. He had lived in Mineola since 1995 having moved from Grand Saline. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mineola, the Danville Masonic Lodge #101 for over 50 years, and a member if the Mineola Masonic lodge #502. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Allen Smith, Sr. and the Edna (Pool) Smith and by one sister Jane Griffin.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Joyce (Griffin) Smith of Mineola; one daughter, Tracey Tullis and her husband Brad of Tyler, Texas; one brother, Bill Smith of Jersey Village, Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Beaty Funeral Home, P.O. Box 209, Mineola, Texas, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Friday, February 22, 2008. Funeral service will be at Beaty Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 23, 2008 , Dr. Mark Neeley officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola, Texas.
