Johnny L. Horner was born July 15, 1936, in Bennington, OK. He went to be with his Lord and Savior while in the arms of his loving wife on October 23, 2017 in Winnsboro, TX. He is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Patricia Meadlin Horner of Winnsboro, TX; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerald and Elaine Horner of Flower Mound, TX; two daughters and son-in-law, Deana Horner Van Story of Mt. Vernon, Darla Horner Posey and Rodney Posey of Texarkana, TX; his five grandchildren, Denae Van Story, Jessica Denise Van Story, Jonathan Posey, Mark Horner, and Emily Horner; three sisters and brother-in-law, Doilles Horner Cox, Barbara Horner Shinn, Kaye Horner Koonce and Wayne Koonce; one special uncle, Kenneth Horner; and numerous nieces and nephews. Reverend Johnny Horner served in the U. S. army from 1959-1962. He served as an ordained minister in the Assemblies of God for 50 years, pastoring churches in north and south Texas and is a former pastor of First Assembly of God in Quitman, TX. Rev. Horner attended Southeastern State University in Durant, Ok; graduated with a B.S. degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God College in Waxahachie, TX; and attended graduate classes at Central Bible School in Springfield, MO. Family will host visitation on Friday, October 27 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro, TX. Funeral services will be at First Assembly of God, Quitman, TX on October 28 at 2:00. Rev. Rodney Posey will be officiating assisted by Rev. Art Walden and Bishop George Dickens.
