Joyce JoAnn (Wallis) Skelton, of Winnsboro, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 6, 2021. Her devoted family was by her side when she began the journey. JoAnn as she was known, was born on August 7, 1938, in the family home outside of Winnsboro. She was born to Francis Ostel “Son” Wallis and Katherine (Thomas) Wallis. JoAnn loved her Lord and serving in her church at Ebenezer Baptist. Mrs. Skelton enjoyed spending time in her garden and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. JoAnn was a talented seamstress and worked a number of years in the cafeteria at Memorial Middle School. Mrs. Skelton is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years John Skelton; daughter, Mitzi Spence and husband Ronny; granddaughter, Candace White and husband Shawn of Temecula, California, granddaughter Rhonda Dandan and husband Mo of Arlington, Texas; great-grandchildren, Keagen White, Sydney White, Averi White and Kathryn Dandan; sister, Jackie Bonner; and numerous other family. A visitation will be on Thursday, August 12, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Fred Morrow officiating. Burial will follow in Smyrna Cemetery.
