Juan Silva, a beloved husband and father, passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 95. Born on June 24, 1928, in San Antonio, Mexico, Juan was the son of Jose Silva and Concepción Delgadillo.
Juan was a longtime farmer, working tirelessly to provide for his family and contribute to his community. His strong work ethic and commitment to his craft were evident to all who knew him.
A member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Mineola, Juan found solace and strength in his faith. He was a devout Catholic who lived his life guided by the principles of love, compassion, and generosity.
Outside of his work and church commitments, Juan found immense joy in spending time with his large family. He was a loving husband to his wife, Maria Silva, and a devoted father to their eleven children: Alfredo, José, Maria, Francisco, Martin, Herminia, Angel, Juan, Juana, Elisa, and Juan Luis. He was a father also to Maria's children Cristina, Miguel, Francisco, and Adolfo.
Juan's home was always open to friends and family, and he welcomed all with warmth and hospitality. He cherished the moments spent gathered around the table, sharing stories and creating memories with those he loved.
In addition to his immediate family, Juan is survived by four brothers, five sisters, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Juan Silva's life exemplified the virtues of hard work, faith, and family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know him.
A Requiem Mass for Juan will be held at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Mineola, where friends and family will come together to pray for his eternal salvation and find comfort in the prayers of the Church.
